Surgical Services

Our surgical services include pain management, monitoring equipment and isoflurane anesthesia equipment. The veterinarians and veterinary technicians are exceptionally experienced in routine and specialized surgical procedures.

Laser surgery is an option to the surgery procedures. Laser surgery provides for an incision made with the beam of a laser device and allows for less bleeding and pain as the incision is cauterized as it is made. Our doctors will be happy to further explain laser surgery.

Surgeries are scheduled daily from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m (except Sundays). Animals scheduled for surgeries must be dropped off between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. on the day of their appointment. (And don't forget... NO FOOD AFTER MIDNIGHT and only a little water in the morning.)

Wildlife Services

Bayshore Animal Hospital is proud to dedicate our time, facilities and resources to assist injured and abandoned wildlife in need of medical treatment. We care for wildlife brought in by the people in our community, A Native Sun, and Wildlife Rescue every day.

Our lovely receptionists gather information and maintain records needed for rehabilitation and release of these animals while the kennel staff manage daily care and medicating in a wildlife care ward.

The Doctors dedicate their time and expertise to examine, diagnose and treat each animal that comes in until they are healthy and ready to be rehabilitated. During the treatment process, our technicians are responsible for taking x-rays, dispensing medications, assisting in surgeries and managing bandaging and care. Once the doctors have deemed an animal safe for rehabilitation, one of our wonderful rehab facilities, either Wildlife, Inc. or Wildlife Center of Venice, will take them for any needed rehabilitation and care until the animal is ready for release back into the wild.

We are very proud to say that we offer the same level of care to our pro bono wildlife patients as we do to all our patients. Wildlife receive x-rays, medications, and surgeries as needed to diagnose and treat any injuries or disease.
